Producer Kate Brooks recently told Digital Spy: "Aaron comes back to the show ostensibly to see Faith, but obviously there's a lot of loose ends to tie up with Liv. Diane, who has links to several of the villagers, is expected to provide some much-needed moral support to her loved ones amid the chaos of the big episodes.
It just felt fitting to bring her back – that old soul, the person who knows the village the best, who can be a support to many different characters on many different levels.
