About this deal

This double LP version blows the single disc out of the water in terms of sonics, and is definitely the one to own. First for tracks EXPLODE explode in perfectly then a Hun on left channel and it’s good night but not all bad.

All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. The vinyl colour on this newer version is more magenta than purple (despite what the hype-sticker says) and the matrix runouts suggest it was pressed at GZ Media with no mastering credits observable. BMG Blue (BMI); "Oh Me,""Plateau" and "Lake Of Fire" written by Curt Kirkwood and published by BMG Bumblebee (BMI); "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?Mastered for vinyl from the original analog master tapes at Bernie Grundman Studios [uncredited] and pressed on audiophile quality 180g LPs by Pallas in Germany. Unsealed, as well as wholly different matrix/runouts and the more magenta shade to the vinyl, the labels have the globe Geffen logo instead of the DGC logo which is on the 2019 BG/Pallas pressing.

Newer pressing shows 1994 copyright info on the back of the sleeve (the 2019 shows 1991 copyright info). A bit of distortion towards the very ending of both sides but nothing much, especially considering their length. Anyway the ORG’s don’t ever disappoint and in this case I prefer the sound quality over the white OG’s! I think my experience was rare or perhaps the seller unknowingly was sold a bootleg that looks identical to the real thing - who knows. But, the thing that I've found with my Back to Black reissues is that the sticker on the cover is always black.Artists doing unplugged sessions and interacting with each other and the crowd bring them down to earth and humbled I think. I had a friend look at it who does repairs on vinyl and he said it was some kind of mess up in the manufacturing. Anyway I wanted to repurchase one of course and didn’t matter whether it was Pallas or RTI but I ended up with a Pallas. Following the demand for new Nirvana material after Kurt Cobain’s death, Nirvana’s live MTV performance was released in album-form on November 1, 1994.
