I get rid of ADSL years ago when Virgin became available on my street, so I had to set this up using the existing Internet option where the LAN 1 port becomes your WAN port. It's great to have so many options and the FRITZ!Box 7590 offers more than you could ever truly need. Where this design diverges from the usual router discord is it combines an ADSL router, network switch, analogue phone relay, digital phone point, DECT phone base, WiFi 6 router and NAS box in a single solution.

The FRITZ!Box 7530 is more than just an internet router box. Connect a VoIP account to your Zen router to control your broadband and voice from a single interface. Up to six cordless telephones can be added to the DECT base station, reducing the clutter of multiple telephone base stations and wires around your house. That all this technology is crammed into a box just 256mm wide, 200mm deep, and 60mm high is impressive. Its small enough that it can be placed on any flat surface or wall mounted as required. There is something a little ‘old school’ about the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, but in a good way. It’s a solid solution that has all the technology that most home and small business users would appreciate. The Upstairs test is taken one storey up and roughly 15 metres away from the router, while the Garden test is approximately 20 metres away, with two closed doors and two load-bearing walls between the router and the clients.
